Raymond F. Boyce
Raymond Franklin Boyce, 79, of Frederick County, Virginia, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Boyce was born in 1935, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Lloyd A. and Grace Boyce. He was a Veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Boyce was a Dairy Farmer, and part time grounds keeper at Westminster Canterbury, retiring in 1997. Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be forever remembered for his love of the outdoors. He enjoyed gardening and maintaining his flowers, especially his rose garden.
He married Judy Lynn Wolford on November 12, 1960, in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Surviving with his wife of 54 years are three daughters, Kelly Diane Boyce and her fiancé Randall Wyatt of Hamilton, Virginia, Tina Louise Anderson and husband, Ronald, of Gore, Virginia, Vicki Lynn Boyce and James Smith of Winchester; two sons, David Allen Boyce and wife, Lisa, Steven Ray Boyce and wife, Cathy all of Front Royal; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Celebrant Joseph R. Dilleree officiating. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia. Military Honors will be afforded by V.F.W. Post # 2123.
