Randy Bowman, 61, of Loudoun County, Virginia passed away at sunrise on the morning of Friday, May 15, 2020, at the family farm in Middletown, Virginia.

Randy grew up in Vienna, Virginia, son of the late Wallace and Louise Bowman. He graduated from Lees McRae College. Randy was a Commercial Building Inspector with Fairfax County. He was a member of the Virginia Plumbing & Mechanical Inspectors Association and chaired their awards committee. Randy was a Civil War buff and also a member of the Northern Virginia Relic Hunters Association. He loved hiking and enjoyed the country life. Randy was a NASCAR fan, enjoyed riding ATVs on his farm, attending music festivals, and was a true bluegrass fan. Along with his lifelong friends, he enjoyed their annual Shenandoah River Shish.

Surviving is his brother, Gary Bowman (Terri) of Great Falls, Virginia; nephew, Greg Bowman (Laura) of Arlington, Virginia; his loving significant other, Shelby Eakle; and numerous relatives and lifelong friends.

A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Falls Church, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Randy’s memory to Capital Caring Hospice, 3180 Fairview Park Drive, Suite 500, Falls Church, Virginia 22042.

My deepest condolences to Randy’s family and Shelby. Randy and I went to school together and we had caught up at our High School reunion. He was kind and will be sorely missed!

I'm sadden to hearing of Randy's passing. Randy, was a great man that will truly be missed myself and many alike. Thank's for allowing us to roam the farm Randy. My condolences to the Bowman Family!

Randy was a quiet, kind man and a wonderful friend. The world has lost some of its light.

Randy became a friend when I married in to the Clingenpeel family in 1965. He was Vince’s buddy and later business partner, and the parents were lifelong friends. Randy was handsome, kind and always helpful. My children enjoyed him as much as Wayne and I did. Louise, my sympathies to you and your family. As a member of VPMIA currently, including while I was working in Arlington County, VA, Randy was a great person and contributor. to our organization and I'm sure any other endeavors he was involved in. I am saddened at the news of Randy passing. He was the first person to befriend me when I joined VPMIA. I always looked forward to seeing him at our events. I will surely miss him. Eric Tyree

I am heartbroken over the loss Randy. He was not only a coworker, but a dear friend. I met Randy through work, and we instantly became friends. every time we crossed paths, I got a great big bear hug, and he's ask how I was doing and my response was always "much better now" I was able to speak to him earlier this month, which I am so grateful for. My deepest condolences to your family.

On behalf of myself and the Virginia Plumbing & Mechanical Association we send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Randy. The organization will truly miss Randy and his contribution of time on the Awards Committee.

While I never met Randy in person, I felt as though I knew him just from the help he provided me with many cross connection questions. We had a great conversation a few months ago when I found out his cancer and had just asked someone in his office how he was doing. RIP my friend, may you memory be for a blessing. Gary, Terry, Gregory, and Shelby, 35 years ago Randy was our first neighbor. We bonded quickly and he became family to us. He was like a brother to me and it's still so surreal that he is gone. Our daughters thought of him as an Uncle. Uncle Randy Dandy, they would say. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Randy was truly one of a kind. He had a heart that was so giving and he would do anything for anyone. Our hearts are with each of you. We have so many amazing memories. May our memories keep him alive in hearts forever. My condolence goes to Randy’s family! He was an amazing, kindhearted and the sweetest man I ever met. I worked with Randy for 3 years in Fairfax County, he always could put a smile on my face and we loved talking about riding ATVs or NASCAR together. He will be greatly missed!

It is in this time of grievance when we look back on one's life and the impact they had on each of us. Randy was a kind, gentle, soft-spoken amn with a lot of wisdom and encouragement to be shared. Five years flies by, and in instant, that time is gone. I truly thank Randy for all his shared knowledge while being colleagues in the Fairfax County Building Division. You will be truly missed and I will drink a MD for you! RIP.

We will miss Randy deeply. He was always so generous and sincere to me and my family. His stories were great to hear whether they were about finding civil war memorabilia or just about the day and his buddies. My daughter, Addison, loved seeing and spending time with Randy from the time she was a baby all the way up to being a teenager. And our dogs... I will never forget his love for our dogs. They both loved seeing Randy knowing he would cuddle with them nonstop. We love you, Randy.
