We were so upset to hear about Randy's death. He had been our attorney since the time we became adults and bought our first home. The last time we saw Randy was earlier this year when he did some legal work for us since our daughter is now an adult. Randy was a very special man. I can't even count the number of times I just needed some advice and he was always willing to chat and give us advice. We've spent so many years coming thru the backdoor where Sues desk sits....I remember more conversations about life than law and that speaks volumes about this dear man. Our conversations about motorcycles and guitars, food and family will be missed. Randy was always so excited about his trips with Maggie and was getting ready to spend some time off with his dear wife at our last meeting. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Maggie, Randy's family and Sue. We pray the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will comfort the hearts of those close to Randy at this time of need. This town will not be the same without you, Sir.
Joe & Pat Grizzle left a message on November 21, 2011:
We were very sorry to hear of Mr. Hamilton's Passing. He has been our Attorney for many years. He was the most upstanding, honest, by the book, Attorney we had ever met. I remember he was working on a case for us once, that he said was keeping him up at nights, because he was concerned how it was going to end. I don't think there are many like him left in this ole world! I am sure Sue will be lost without him, as well as the rest of his family and friends. It will truly be hard to find another Lawyer to replace him. We have placed his family on our prayer list at Church. May God Bless you all in your times of grief. I haven't seen Randy since we all went off to college. He was kind enough a couple of years ago to touch base after my father's passing. John, Tom, Randy and I spent a lot of summers chasing mischief around the Mt. Vernon area and I remember watching Neil Armstrong land on the moon while sitting in Randy's basement. He is with the angels now. God bless you. Bil Monan

In 1989 Randy was kind enough to give a new attorney fresh out of law school a chance to practice law. Randy was a kind and learned mentor and I will be forever in his debt for letting me practice with him for 5 years. He taught me a great deal about law and even more about life, rest in peace my friend and may God bless you Maggie. christian griffin

As Clerk of the Winchester Circuit Court from 1975 until the end of 2003, I had regular contacht with Randy and he was a true gentleman and most competent attorney. It was an honor and pleasure to work with him. The old saying that "still water runs deep" was certainly applicable to Randy and his knowlege of the law was deep and I learned much from him. Maggie: Please accept our sympathy on your loss of Randy. We are happy that we shared many years of friendship with both of you. One of the activities that we most enjoyed was having you over to our place for an evening of scintillating conversation. May angels' wings lift you up during this difficult time. Fondly, Bob and Dee Blair

I met Randy for the first time last June, when he was already gravely ill. I was tremendously impressed by his calm courage in the face of adversity, his delightfully understated sense of humor, and above all the deep love he so clearly shared with Maggie. SB, Ashburn, VA

I am John Gaunt's sister, so I knew Randy a long time ago. I actually met you in a Hardees somewhere along I-81 once coming or going to school, I think. John, Randy and Tom taught me to drive a stick shift in a little beige VW bug in Alexandria. He was a lot of fun to be around. I am so sorry for your loss - I am sure that being the primary caregiver is hard, hard work and my heart goes out to you. Maggie Gaunt Fieger
