Randall “Randy” K. Ewell, 66, of Winchester, VA, passed away the first week of December 2023, at Winchester Medical Center.
Randy was born in Montpelier, OH, the son of Thelma Ewell and the late, Warren Ewell. He joined the United States Air Force and served for 20 years, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant, and received multiple medals and awards. He graduated from the University of Maryland with his master’s degree in computer science. Randy was dedicated to computer information security, first working in the Air Force then moving on as a private contractor. Being an avid pianist and his devotion to music his entire life, he volunteered his time to both the church as a choir director and to local hospitals. Randy enjoyed riding his motorcycles every chance he could, even in winter. He was known as “The Energizer Bunny” by family for his adventures in skiing in Montana and being a terrific bowler with achieving the highest score in bowling, 300. Randy was a licensed Captain of his pride and joy, his yacht “At Last”. He enjoyed traveling any chance he could.
He is survived by his wife, Mae “Angie” Angeletta Ewell, whom he was married to for over 47 years; daughter, Amber Christina Ewell Butner; grandson, Carl “Ben” Benjamin Butner, IV; sister, Rebecca “Becky” Rosenbrook (Jim), Karla Griggs (Jim) and brother, Vance Ewell.
A memorial service will be held on January 6th, 2024, at Bethany Lutheran Church at 10:30am in Brunswick, MD. A graveside service will be held for Randy later in Arlington National Cemetery.
