Preston “Bugs” I. Moffett, Jr., 75 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center.
Preston was born in 1950 in Winchester, the son of the late Preston I. Moffett, Sr. and Dorothy (Farkus) Moffett. He was a graduate of St. Francis High School and attended Ferrum University. Preston retired in 2008 as Vice President of Preston Moffett Distributors, a company that was first and foremost his priority. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing at his lake house on Lake Serene, driving his GTO, caring for his donkey’s and he had a passion for racehorses.
He is survived by his son, Matthew L. Moffett; grandson, Dylan M. Moffett; great-grandson, Preston M. Moffett; dear friend, Gail Streit; sister, Stephanie “Taffy” Litz (Don) and nieces, Anne Moffett Litz, Paige Litz Dunn, Ashby Litz Thoeni and Wescott Litz Higgins..
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 10am with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11am all held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Stephen Vaccaro.
