Phyllis “Tiny” Naomi Collis, 91, of Stephens City, Virginia died Monday, January 23, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Collis was born in 1925 in Williamsville, Virginia, the daughter of the late William M. and Gertha B. Tennant. She was a homemaker in her own home and a member of Boyce Baptist Church.
Her husband, Harry Douglas Collis, Sr., whom she married on March 20, 1946 in Hagerstown, Maryland preceded her in death on July 10, 2011.
Surviving are daughters, Patricia D. Cox (Delroy) of Monroe, Louisiana, Elizabeth L. Lewis (Tom) of Inwood, West Virginia, and Valerie S. Collis Foley of Winchester, Virginia; sons, Harry D. Collis, Jr. of Pensacola, Florida and Kenneth A. Collis of Gerrardstown, West Virginia; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Tennant of Luray, Virginia and Harry Tennant of Naples, Florida.
Mrs. Collis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Ruth Sevigny; brothers, William Tennant, Jr., John Tennant, and James Tennant.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Boyce Baptist Church, 1 W. Main Street, Boyce, Virginia with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with Reverend Ben Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in Paynes Chapel Cemetery, Ridgeway, West Virginia.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Benjamin Lewis, Gregory Lewis, Matthew Collis, Cody Barr, Daniel Cox, and Adam Chaney. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Zachary Collis and Jeremy McNew; Dr. Avery Gibbs and Dr. Jeffery Skiles.
