Phillip “Phil” D. Burroughs

Phillip Dale Burroughs, 61, of Winchester, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center. The caregivers provided exceptional care and showed compassion for him. His family will be forever grateful for their compassionate care given to him.
Phil was born in 1958 in Pearisburg, Virginia, the son of the late Harry L. and Rowena F. Burroughs. He was a retired construction steel worker. Phil loved to tinker with small motors and working on vintage motorcycles. He enjoyed going to thrift stores, yard sales, and enjoyed fishing and camping. Phil would make old items look new again. He was known for grilling great steaks.
Phil is survived by a daughter, Jamie Wagoner (David) of Stephens City, Virginia; one grandson; sisters, Pamela Burroughs of Winchester, Virginia and Patricia Franklin (Charles) of Strasburg, Virginia; brothers, Paul Burroughs (Barbara) of Stephens City, Virginia and Perry Burroughs (Cheryl) of Middletown, Virginia.
All services will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

I love you dad and I miss you so much

Happy Birthday Dad. It's been one year since you left us. I miss you more and more everyday. You left us way to soon and I will forever regret not being there to say goodbye. I think about you all the time, and hold you in my heart where you will live forever. I love you dad.

So sorry for your loss. I know your brother meant a great deal to you. My prayers are with you.

I learned to know about Philip in the last couple of years thru his sister Pam. Though I only met him in person once,-maybe 2 months ago- he was a real gentleman and he did tell me that he loved to cook and especially to grill. I was hoping we could enjoy that experience together sometime. I pray that God's grace sustain each of you through this time of loss and that he bring you close together as a family.

So sorry to hear of Phillip's passing. I had not seen him for years but I remember always seeing him out in his parent's yard working on lawn mowers with his Dad.

I remember Phillip from Highview elementary school in Stephens City. Sending Prayers to his family.
