A man with a big heart, loved to laugh and tell stories, and loved his family. We will miss him and so glad we got to know him through his son Dan.
John H. Phelps left a message on December 15, 2021:
Pete and I met in Lynchburg, VA when he came to work at a Cardinal Airlines in 1972. We flew together and bonded immediately. We crossed paths several times over the years...he stayed at my apartment when he flew with Air Virginia and I roomed at his house when I first moved to Richmond. He married Jeanne and what a wonderful couple they made! He was a excellent pilot, a Southern Gentleman of the Old School, a teller of tall tales, a great American. My heart goes out to his family. The Lord brings comfort in this time of grief through the blessing of having had a place in his life.
