Peggy Shade Marple, 85 of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Hilltop Assisted Living.

Peggy was born in 1939 in Frederick County, VA, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen Shade. She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Winchester, VA.

She married Elmer Ray Marple, Jr. on November 28, 1957, in Hagerstown, MD and he preceded her in death on January 13, 2023.

Peggy is survived by her daughters, Sonya M. Cain (Dave) of Stephens City, VA, Brunnae M. Lowery of Stephens City, VA; grandchildren, Sasha R. Hurst (Jason), Sean M. Cain (Abby), Joel D. Lowery (Amanda); great-grandchildren, Christian Hurst, Anna Rose Cain, Madison Lowery, Max W. Cain and Baylee Lowery and her brother Lawrence H. Shade, Jr.

A graveside service will be held for Peggy on Monday, December 30, 2024, in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank hospice and Hilltop House staff for the wonderful care given to Peggy.
