Pauline E. Funkhouser
Pauline “Polly” Elizabeth Whetsel Funkhouser, 84, of Stephens City, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010, in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Funkhouser was born in 1925, in West Virginia, the daughter of the late Isaac and Alice Whetsel. She was a retired clerk with Peoples Drug Stores. Mrs. Funkhouser was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Middletown, Virginia.
Her husband, John Harvey Funkhouser, whom she married on April 13, 1946, preceded her in death on October 13, 1994.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn Monk, Joan Strosnider and her husband, Roger, all of Winchester, Virginia, Linda S. Barb of Vansant, Virginia; six grandchildren, Crystal Whetzel and her husband, John, Carole Judy, Michael Monk, Sr., Gregory L. Strosnider and his wife, Amy, Joshua L. Strosnider, Jennifer E. Barb; and seven great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, at Grace United Methodist Church in Middletown, Virginia, with Reverend Tom Keithley and Pastor Jay Kelchner officiating.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
