Paul Stuart Milton of Castle Hayne, North Carolina, formerly of Falls Church, Virginia, died after a brief illness on February 10, 2024. Paul was born to Charles Stuart Milton and Lois Jeanne Shepler Milton on February 13, 1948. He was raised in Winchester and felt a strong lifelong connection to the town. Paul told many stories about growing up and getting into mischief in the 1950s and 60s with his friends. He made a special effort to reconnect and reunite with friends from his childhood, some from as many as 70 years ago.
After graduating from Handley High School, Paul moved to Dayton, Ohio, where he attended University of Dayton while working full time at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. His lifelong computer career began with programming on card punch machines and mainframe computers in the lab at “Wright-Pat”. Upon his return to Virginia, he began a career in computer hardware sales selling mainframes, office systems, and word processors as the industry grew up in the 1980s and become ubiquitous in every government and commercial office. He met his wife Cindy when they were both employees of Wang Laboratories during the heady days of the word processing industry growth. They married in 1984 and enjoyed just shy of 40 years together. Paul’s pride and joy was his daughter, Elizabeth, and he loved the companionship of many dogs over the course of his adult life. He and Cindy invested in a home on Martha’s Vineyard in 1993 and spent many weeks each year on the island with friends and family.
Paul is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Castle Hayne, NC (formerly of Falls Church, VA); his daughter, Elizabeth DiMarco (Justin); 3 grandchildren: Gwyneth, Austin and Eleanor, all of Wethersfield, CT; his sister, Anne Boone (Charles)of Virginia Beach, VA, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Interment will be in Mt Hebron Cemetery in a private ceremony. A memorial service on Feb 27 at 2:00 is open to the public, followed by a reception at The Falls Church Anglican, 6565 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church.
