Linda Harper Marlow left a message on December 31, 2018:
Dr. Hylton was the best pediatrician for my critically ill children that I could have asked for. He was compassionate with my children and always looked into their eyes as he treated them. They loved and adored him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family as they mourn his loss. May fond memories substain them during this difficult time.
Wes Peterson left a message on December 29, 2018:

Karen Alexander left a message on December 28, 2018:
When my daughter was just a baby, when you had a sick child at night you had to go to the Emergency room at the Hospital. Dr. Hylton did not like that because it was so expensive. He changed it to his office on Braddock St. at the time. We took our daughter one night to his office in the summer. We had a big garden at the time. We took Dr. Hylton a bag of tomatoes from our garden. When we got the bill for that night visit, He had written on it " PAID IN TOMATOES".What other Dr. would do that? He was a special man and fantastic doctor. My children are grown now. So glad I had him when they were young.

My heart goes out to all of you!! Dr. Hylton was more than an employer but a second father to me. He was loved by all , I was so blessed to have worked with him and share in all the stories that he told. Still today I laugh at the pigeon story.. Dr. Hylton was s angel .i know that he’s looking down on his friends, coworkers snd especially his family saying that he’s ok ,God’s blessings to the Hyltons. Rest in peace Dr HYlton you will be missed but never forgotten

First met Hamp (peanut) Hylton at Camp Bethel when he was eight (almost 9) years old. Then Bridgewater and UVa at the same time and apartment mates at UVA. Swapped him a An Army Dress Blue uniform for a fish tank as he and Judy were getting ready to go to Germany via ship to to Germany and he needed a Dress Uniform and I was already out of the Army. He and his parents and Judy were all good people. Rest in peace, Hamp.

I worked for Dr. Hylton for 7 years and he was one of the nicest men I have ever known. He was a great doctor, for my children and so many others. Always caring to his patients , employees and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and I don’t think I ever saw him mad. Years later he was always happy to see me anywhere. I met Hamp soon after I joined the WMH (as it was known then) Medical Staff in 1977, and enjoyed our friendship through the years, both in the hospital and out. Back then we were more like a family, and we got to know our colleagues and their families. My condolences to Judy, the family, and all of us who will miss him. I regret that recent surgery will prevent me from attending the funeral.

Dr Hylton was my 3 grow childens doctor. He alwas gave them a kiss on the forehead. I knew my kids so well I would tell Dr Hylton what was wrong with my kids. (He knew I knew them well). One day I took one of them into his office sick. I already knew what was wrong with them. He would ask me can I diagnose them this time. I would say OK. We both had a goid laugh. Judy, I am forever indebted to Hamp. As he, along with Winston, brought me here to practice medicine, raise my family and become part of a wonderful community. Hamp showed me that you can be active in your faith community as you practice medicine. He taught me that kindness always matters. I remember fondly the first day I met him. I knew I had found my practice to join as he played with Caitlin at our breakfast. I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you, Julia , Faith and the rest of your family in my prayers.
