Some of my best childhood memories are of summer nights spent at the McTiernans. Pat never sugar coated anything he said, and treated me as one of his own. He was a strong man, with strong convictions, and will be missed. Love and Light to Phylllis, Cathy and Pat.

Fran - I was so sorry to see the passing of Pat. I had many a great laugh with you two while doing events downtown - and of course every time we came to buy a hot dog. Pat's laughter and cut-to-the-chase mentality will be missed. I can only tell you, time does soften the blow. Hugs and love my friend.

Fran, I extend my deepest sympathy to you and the rest of the family. I enjoyed working with Pat in therapy; he always shared great stories and inspired me to learn more about historical sites in the area! He will be missed!

Phyllis and Family, Craig and I send prayers for you and your family. Mr. McTiernan was a man who told you how things were, and that was that...I didn't know him well, but I know he raised a fine family. Keeping you in our thoughts here, Nancy Lewis and family

It is with great sorrow that I read in the newspaper today of Patrick's passing. I remember the great times we had at his house in the 70's and 80's enjoying his great humor and stern look. I worked with him at Mt. Weather and the great times we had working at the facility. The last time I saw Pat was at the hospital when my mother was there in 2007. He wished me good luck and said I should go see Jimmie Grew, as he had become a minister. Pat will be missed. Bobby Brown Alexandria, Va

I have known Mr. McTiernan and the family since I was in Kindergarten. We would be in the cafeteria or church and you better behave or you would just get that look....he was a kind and giving man who will be missed by everyone. My thoughts are with the family and friends.
