My brother married Patty on my 10th birthday and what a present he gave me that year! Patty was such a great sister-in-law, bringing so much laughter and fun to our family all these years. She was always the life of every party with her quick wit and enthusiasm! Patty always called me (and I know many others) "honey." Not long ago she asked me if I cared that she still called me that, even though I'm not a little girl anymore! Of course, I did not mind a bit! The name rolled off her tongue so effortlessly, it would have been impossible for her to stop anyway! The most precious thing is that when Patty called any of us "honey," it so totally conveyed the sincere love and affection she felt for us.

Farewell to a strong woman and a gentle lady. Patty was beautiful, both inside and out, and simply delightful to know as a friend. God grant her the peace she deserves, and may her family always treasure the wonderful memories they made with her. She will be missed.

I was so sorry to see the notice in the Loudoun paper yesterday - I raised my kids in Sterling Park and have very fond memories of Patty - we shared time on the Little League field - and then years later Brandy led an orientation at Longwood for us as my son was a prospective student there. Patty was always smiling, always friendly, and fiercely loved her kids!! She won't be forgotten.

Our deepest sympathy to Bob and her children and to her brothers and sisters. We grew up together in Albion, PA and graduated from high school together. We have some really wonderful memories that we will cherish always. Brownies and Girl Scouts, playing at Grandma Coonfer's house, sleepovers, chips and dip and bubble up, Louise always cleaning her beautiful wood floors, trips to "camp", boyfriends, walking home from school, and so many good times. It was so nice growing up with you Patti. Rick & Stephanie (Kireta) Thayer Sarasota, FL

I worked with Patti at Park View High School and always loved going into the guidance department because I knew she would greet me with a big smile. Always cheerful, always great with the kids and always fun to be with, Patti was wonderful to all who knew her. I will always remember her smile and the love she had for her family. My sincere condolences to Bob, Brandy, Brian and her grandchildren. Pat Land

Graduated from High School with Patti. Remember the brownie troop we were in together and she was the first one that I ever was allowed to have a sleep over with....what fun. She was easy with her smile and friends to all. Our thoughts are with Bob and family. Karen Case Hayes

Patty was a friend from the time our families met over 25 yrs ago. No one could have been a better friend or better at spreading cheer to others. We will always cherish her open heart & generousity. Thank you Patty for being a "second Mom" to our daughter and "Gaga" to our grandchildren right along with your own beautiful family. To the family: We love you.

I looked up Patty on facebook tonight and was shocked and saddened to learn of her passing. We were best friends through sixth grade and then went different ways in school. That made me feel sad and I just felt like sharing with her. The last time I saw her was at the class reunion a few years ago. Please accept my sincere condolences and I am so sorry this is so late in coming. I am one of the Davis twins if that helps you remember me. sincerely. I lost my husband to cancer in 1998 at age 50 but have since remarried. We got married when we were 18 and he was my best friend. I hope things have worked out well with you. And with your children too. We had 2 children and now have 5 grandchildren. I still miss him and think of him every day but have learned to live with it. And my current husband is wonderful. He was a widower too and we met in church. Take care and if you want to, get back to me and let me know how you are doing.
