Pastor William Harold “Bill” Wood, 72, of Stephens City, Virginia joined his Heavenly Father Friday, September 25, 2020, at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center.

Bill was born in 1947 in Baltimore, Maryland, son of the late Reverend Enoch and Eva Wood. He was a graduate of City College. Bill, often called “Brother Wood”, was a faithful, loyal servant of God and practiced ministry for 50+ years, ministering to Valley Assembly of God Church for 24 years. He loved to sing Southern Gospel music and recorded a CD of his favorite hymns in 2015. Bill enjoyed traveling, hiking, studying and visiting US historic sites, and long walks on the beach and at the State Arboretum, taking in all of God’s beauty. His time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, were the most precious moments to him.

He married Ann Elizabeth Krouse on June 14, 1969.

Surviving with his wife of 51 years is a son, John Mark Wood and his wife, Rae; grandchildren, Noah and Summer Wood; and great grandchild, Natalie Ava Forloines.

Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Esther Wood Estes and Dorothy V. Wood and brothers, Enoch C. Wood, III and Paul T. Wood.

A visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am on Saturday, October 3rd, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11 am with Pastor Bobby Basham
officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia. A reception will follow the interment at Valley Assembly of God Church, 2376 4th Street, Middletown, Virginia.
