Pasquale R. Monacelli, 80, of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center.
Pat was born in 1945 in Jersey City, NJ He was the son of the late Stefano and Michelina Monacelli. He was a graduate of Hoboken High School, Class of 1964, and proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Pat dedicated 27 years to firefighting, beginning his career in the United States Air Force before joining the New Brunswick (NJ) Fire Department. He later worked as a security and fire inspector at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital (New Brunswick, NJ).
Pat was known for his warmth and contagious laughter. He enjoyed making jokes and telling stories, always aiming to bring joy and smiles to those around him.
As an active member of AMVETS Post 18 in Stephens City, he helped organize the monthly Veterans Breakfast at the Golden Corral, which is held on the first Saturday of each month. He was extremely passionate about collecting memorabilia from the Civil War, World War I, and World War II. Pat was an outdoorsman, but his most cherished moments were spent with his family.
On May 18, 1968, Pat married the love of his life, Norma Egglestone, in Coventry, England. Pat is survived by Norma, daughter, Stephanie Therese Monacelli; son, Pasquale Monacelli, Jr. (Vicky); his beloved grandchildren, Emily Grace, Sara, and Andrew; brother, Theodore Monacelli (Maryanne); sisters-in-law, Shirley, and Joy; nephew, Brian Monacelli, and many loving extended family members and dear friends.
A visitation will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., followed by a service at 5 p.m., at Omps Funeral Home South Chapel, Winchester, VA. Interment will be private. Rev. Ralph Hensley and Rev. Paul Campbell will be officiating. After the service, a gathering with food and fellowship will be held at the AMVETS in Stephens City.
