Otis Stanley Johnson passed away on September 11, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was 65.
Otis was born September 16, 1949 to Otis Johnson and Mae “Frances” Johnson. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised after his parents’ passing by his loving aunts Cordelia “Delia,” Kate “KK,” and Marie, and his stepmother Addie. They all preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his son, Howard Joseph Braxton. Otis was surrounded by many cousins.
Otis served 16 faithful years in the United States Air Force, and subsequently joined the private sector working for defense contractors. He obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science and engineering after his early retirement from the Air Force.
Otis loved his family, reading, and working on computers. His love of learning has been passed down to his daughters and granddaughters.
Otis is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 45 years, Phyllis; three successful daughters, Fran, Chris, and Tracie; and six granddaughters, Angel, Jessica, Aliyanna, Joanna, Jessica, and Naomi; sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Otis is much loved and will be sorrowfully missed.
