Peggy was born in 1925 in Lost City West Virginia, the daughter of the late Charles Hall Miller and Amanda (Teets) Miller.
Peggy had the pleasure of working with the late Patsy Cline in a restaurant in Winchester. She loved her singing and would often join in. She and Patsy were friends. Peggy then worked at the Piccadilly Soda Shop and worked at National Fruit where she met the love of her life, Frank McDaniel. Later, Peggy worked in manufacturing at Crown, Cork and Seal, retiring in 1988 with 20 years of service.
Peggy was a faithful and active member of Calvary Church of the Brethren for many years. Peggy was happy, friendly, caring, and loved people. She had a strong work ethic, enjoyed growing fruits and vegetables in her garden, canning, cooking and baking. She loved flowers and her favorite flower was the red rose. She loved music, especially gospel music. Peggy also loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and sister to her family.
Peggy married Frank William McDaniel on April 23, 1955 in Winchester, Virginia. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2012.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lambert of Winchester.
In addition to her parents and husband, Peggy is preceded in death by her sisters, Fannie See, Vesta Wolverton, and Beatrice Worley and her brothers, Boyd Miller and Kenneth Miller. She was also preceded in the death by her nieces Nona Shutts, Kathleen Funkhouser, and Barbara Isaacson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Omps, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 am at Calvary Church of the Brethren with Pastor Clarence R. Davis, Jr. and Pastor Jonathan Martino officiating. A funeral meal will follow at the church. Entombment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Wise, Steve Shutts, Roger McDaniel, Chris McDaniel, John Haines, and Butch Creswell.
Honorary pallbearers are David Miller, Gary Miller, Robert Miller, Billy Fulk, and Lindy Funkhouser.
