Oneta M. Vincent
Oneta Catherine Miller Vincent, 84, of Winchester, Virginia, died Friday, January 4, 2013, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Vincent was born in 1928, in Middletown, Virginia, the daughter of the late Walter and Catherine Miller. She worked in the Coning Department of Avtex, Front Royal, Virginia, retiring after 40 years of service. She continued to work for the Frederick County School System in the Cafeteria, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of Salem Church of the Brethren for over 60 years. Mrs. Vincent loved ceramics, gardening and shopping.
She married Maurice S. Vincent on December 18, 1948, in Williamsport, Maryland. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1998.
Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Palmer and husband, Ronnie, Janet Unger and husband, Greg, all of Stephens City, Virginia; three grandchildren, Sara Knighten and husband, Stacy, Stephen Palmer and fiancée, Sarah, Cassi Unger; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Knighten, Devan Helsley and Brentley Palmer; two sisters, Marie Witek of Boonsboro, Maryland, Loretta Sargent of Fort Valley, Virginia; and two brothers, Ollie Miller and Levi Miller, both of Stephens City.
Four brothers, Paul Miller, Tommy Miller, Russell Miller and Walt Miller, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Reverend Gary Palmer officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Greg Unger, Ronnie Palmer, Stephen Palmer, Gary Strosnider, Stacy Knighten and Jake Strosnider.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Shenandoah Area Agency on Aging, 207 Mosby Lane, Front Royal, Virginia 22630.
