Norman E. Sites
Norman E. Sites, 86, of Frederick County, VA, passed away on April 8, 2016 in Winchester Medical Center.
Norman was born in 1929 to the late Ray and Grace Sites in Petersburg, WV. He spent most of life in the concrete business, culminating with his retirement from Valley Concrete Walls as a co-owner in 1996. Mr. Sites was a long-time member of Bethany Hill Baptist Church in Frederick County.
His beloved wife of 60 years, Naomi (Crouse) Sites preceded him in death on January 28, 2013. They had been married on July 1, 1952 in Winchester, VA.
Surviving him are two sons, Kevin Sites of Berkeley Springs, WV, and Paul Sites of Winchester, VA; two grandsons, Norman K. Sites of Greenville, NC and Paul Poulin of Winchester, VA; two step-grandchildren, Jessica Berkeszi of Berkeley Springs, WV and Joseph Berkeszi of Charles Town, WV; one sister, Viola Mculty of Winchester, VA; one brother, Dorse Sites and wife, Rethea, of Winchester, VA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Norman was preceded in death by five sisters: Mary Thorne, Rose Russell, Arvella “Short” Combs, Janet Carlyle and Bonnie Martin; and one brother, John Sites.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Pastor Carolyn Martin and Pastor Eugene Proffitt will be officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his church, Bethany Hill Baptist Church, at 115 Bethany Hill Drive, Winchester, VA, 22603.
