Norman R. Byrne
Norman Rex Byrne, 70, of Stephens City, VA died Saturday, March 16, 2013 in the Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Byrne was born in 1942 in Arcola, Virginia, the son of the late Leland and Marjorie Byrne. He was a graduate of Herndon High School, and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Falls Church, VA until his retirement in 1992. Following his retirement, he had a small active business hauling livestock and farming. He was a member of the Elks, Moose, and Rotary Clubs, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Norman was married to Cynthia E. Catron Byrne.
Surviving with his wife are three children, Erick A. Byrne and wife, Terry of Front Royal, VA, Janet L. Tracy and husband, Ted, of Winchester, VA, and Norman R. Byrne and wife, Jennifer of Stephens City, VA; six grandchildren, Stephen, Joshua, Victoria, Thomas, Paul, and Matthew, and two sisters, Anne and Linda.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Pauline, Eleanor, Alma, and Shirley, and two brothers, Ralph and Leland.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Pastor Greg Amos officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
