Celebration of Life

Norma Kay Spaid (Shoemaker), 87, of Gore, VA, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Winchester Medical Center.

Norma was born in 1936 in Virginia, the daughter of the late Guy and Blanche Shoemaker. She retired from Capital Records in the quality control department.

She is survived by her daughter, Delinia “Dee Dee” McDonald of Stephens City, VA; sons, A. Wendell Spaid, Jr. (Barbara Allen) of Romney, WV, W. Keith Spaid of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Justin McDonald, Brandon Spaid, Ainsley Spaid, Samantha Spaid, Bryan Spaid; great-grandchildren, Brailey, Bryson and Bristol Spaid, Macie Spaid and Kenadee and Oaklee Haines; step-great-grandchildren, Megan, Nevaeh and Kylee Miller.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arnold W. Spaid, Sr., who passed on December 6, 1995; sisters, Pauline Shoemaker Loy, Hyla Shoemaker Clowser; brothers, Cecil, Garland, James and Gary Shoemaker.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Norma on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 6pm to 8pm held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
