Nicholas Farrell Ames, 42 of Stephens City, VA, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

Nick was born in 1982 in Bath, NY, the son of Debra J. (DuBois) Wright and the late David Howard Wright. He worked as a forklift operator. Nick was a known jokester. He loved his son and all his nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. He enjoyed watching and playing video games and was an avid Carolina Panthers fan.

He is survived by his son, Nicholas B. “Nicky” Ames; sister, Julie Atkins (Scott); brothers, Wayne Ames (Pam), Patrick Wright (Maxine); Uncle, Tom DuBois (Bonnie); nieces and nephews, Tory Atkins, Brittany Atkins (Hunter), Hunter Ames (Natalie), Victoria Ames and Ashlie Atkins and great-nieces and nephews, Bear, Mason, Michael and Princess Willow.

In addition to his father, Nick is preceded in death by his sister, Joellen Ames; grandparents, Stanley and Joanne DuBois; grandfather, Phil Phillips; uncles, Stanley DuBois and David DuBois and aunt, Cindy Oates.

A visitation will be held for Nick on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 1pm with a service to be conducted at 2pm all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be private.
