Nelson “Lee” Partlow, 75 of Cross Junction, VA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023.

He was born in 1947 in Leesburg, VA, the son of the late Calvin and Ernestine Partlow. Lee was a retired superintendent for the Fairfax Bridge Company. He served our country during the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Corporal. Lee received the Navy Commendation Medal for his heroic achievements while serving as gunner with the 1st Marine Division. Lee enjoyed flying and building model airplanes and was a member of The Plane Crazy Model Airplane Club.

Lee is survived by his wife of 24 years, Beverly Partlow; his daughter, Kristi Partlow; step-children, Timothy Gilbride (Leigh Jean), Christina Barlow (Andre) and Michele Nowell (Scott); his siblings, Linda Gill, Elizabeth Cooke (Tom), Dawn Southerly (Tom), Penny Jones (Eddie) and Terry Lowry (David) and grandchildren, Caoilinn Turner, Max Gilbride, Tag Gilbride, Christiana Barlow-Moore (Justin), Vanessa Barlow, Brooke Barlow, Corrine Nowell, Alleigh Nowell and Evan Nowell, along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lee to the Michael J. Fox Foundation at michaeljfox.org.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 12pm with a service to follow at 1pm, all held at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.

To the Family of Lee Partlow-- I was very saddened to learn of Lee’s passing. I have known your family since I was a child growing up in Ashburn, VA, and went to elementary and high school with Lee, Linda, Liz and Tom. I recall the days when you all worked in your dad’s grocery store, as well as having Lee for a bus driver when we were all in high school (back in those days we had student bus drivers). The entire Partlow family were wonderful friends and neighbors to all the town residents. While losing a loved one can be difficult, there is comfort in knowing that he is now at rest in heaven and rejoicing with all of his loved ones who have gone on before him. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this time. It is my sincere prayer that God will comfort you and give you strength in the days ahead. With deepest sympathy.
