Nancy “Kay” Rodgers Attleson (Age 75) passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in Longs, SC. She was born on January 28, 1950 in Winchester, VA to the late Emory Otterbein and Dorthea Cecile (Polhamus) Rodgers. Kay graduated in 1969 from James Wood High School, Winchester, VA. She retired from Farmers and Merchants Bank and worked in property management after moving to SC. She loved horses and enjoyed trail riding for many years. She and her husband also enjoyed golfing together. She was a member of the Winchester Eagles Club, Moose Lodge and FOP Auxiliary.
Kay is survived by her husband David Attleson of Longs, SC, daughter Callie McDonald and grandson Jay McDonald of Cross Junction, VA. She is also survived by brothers Carlin Rodgers, Lewis “Chic” Rodgers (Roxanne Lineburg), sister-in-law Cindy Rodgers and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Emory “Rhody” Rodgers and her beloved dog Libby.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 1-4 PM at the Winchester Eagles Club 700 Baker Lane, Winchester, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society acknowledging the loss of her brother and sister-in-law to the disease and 2 brothers who are cancer survivors.
Kay will be remembered for her love of family, friends, wild spirit and zest for life.
