Nancy M. Knee

Nancy Jane Miller Knee died Friday, February 18, 2011, in the Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Knee was born in 1932 in Winchester, VA, the daughter of the late Kirby and Ruth Miller. She was Manager of Duff’s Restaurant in Winchester for many years, and she was very active with Northwestern Works. She was a member of the Meadow Mills Church of the Brethren.

She married Walter “Skeeter” Knee in 1958.

Surviving with her husband of 52 years are a grandson, Benjamin Walter Knee of Winchester, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin D. Knee, two sisters, Fannie Miller Tobin and Frances Harris, and a brother, Robert Miller.

A graveside service will be conducted at 9:00 AM on Wednesday at Mount Hebron Cemetery, with David Owings and Michael Foreman officiating.

Pallbearers will be Milton McInturff, Thomas Bucher, V. Frank DeHaven, Jesse Moffett, John Brauer and Jimmy Shipp. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Givens, Mark Garber, Lenny Milholland, Larry Renner and Tom Morris.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
