Minnie D. Swope
Minnie Dorothea Heinecke Swope, 101, formerly a resident of Golden, Illinois, died Saturday, July 26, 2014, in her daughter’s home in Cross Junction, Virginia.
Mrs. Swope was born in 1912 in Golden, Illinois, the daughter of the late August and Ida Heinecke. Minnie was a homemaker and dedicated to her family. She was member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Golden, Illinois where she was known for creating a large number of Chrismons for the annual Christmas tree. Minnie will forever be remembered for the love and teachings she has shared with so many. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She married Frank E. Swope on January 1, 1937 in Golden, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn McTague of Cross Junction, Marcia Kratzke of Chantilly, Virginia; two grandchildren, John Paul Kratzke and his wife Elisha of Vienna, Virginia and Kevin Frank Kratzke of Glendale, California; one great grandchild, Sean Patrick Kratzke.
She is preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
