Mildred Waterman Saville, 93, died Friday, November 11, 2016.
Mrs. Saville was born in 1923 in Strasburg, Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry Harold and Isabell Burke Waterman. She graduated from John Handley High School, Class of 1941, and was the first female member of the Handley band.
On July 11, 1945, she married Ralph Martin Saville. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Surviving are brother Bernard Eugene Waterman and his wife, Edith Waterman, Sanibel Island, Florida; daughters, Ann Hershey (John) of Herndon, Virginia; Susan Butler of Matthews, North Carolina; and Jane Christoffersen (Blake) of Greenville, South Carolina; son, Steven Saville (Tina) of Braselton, Georgia; grandchildren, Heather MacIntosh, Jamey Butler, Gavin and Daniel Christoffersen, Drew and Alex Hershey, Kendall and Logan Saville; great grandchildren, Nina, Ryan, and Marley Hershey, and Grayson Butler.
Mrs. Saville was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Harold Waterman, Jr., and sister, Patricia (Pat) Waterman White.
She was a loving wife and mother. For many years, she was an active member of First Christian Church in Winchester, Virginia. She enjoyed gardening as well as playing bridge.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. with a Visitation before the service from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at First Christian Church, 75 Merrimans Lane, Winchester, Virginia, with Rev. Joan Rainsberger officiating. A graveside service will immediately follow at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia.
