Mildred “Millie” Eleanor Mary Donovan, 76, of Gore, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Donovan was born in 1940 in New York City, New York, the daughter of the late John F. and Mildred H. Klages. She graduated from James Monroe High School in Bronx, New York. Millie was a homemaker who enjoyed ceramics, drawing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, and baking. She also loved to dance and sing and had a strong love for children. Millie was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Mrs. Donovan married Bartholomew Michael Donovan on February 17, 1963 in Union City, New Jersey.
Surviving with her beloved husband of 54 years are daughters, Deborah Ann Donovan of Manalapan, New Jersey, Laura Lynn Donovan-Goodenough of Stafford, Virginia, and Susan R. Donovan of Gore, Virginia; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Winchester, Virginia.
