Miguel Angel Moyano, 31, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019, at his home.
Miguel was born in 1988 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, son of Miguel Moyano Navas and Evelyn Rivera Carrasquillo. He was a Chief Warrant Intelligence Officer with the United States Coast Guard, retiring in 2017. Miguel was attending Penn State University, majoring in economics and had articles published in the University’s newsletter. He had been accepted into Harvard University’s Kennedy School. Miguel loved reading, finance and economics. He enjoyed being outdoors taking in nature, spending time with his family and mentoring his nephew, Diego, in all sports and civil air patrol. Miguel was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
He married Sarah Mae Bockman on January 17, 2015 in Reston, Virginia.
Surviving with his parents, his wife, and his nephew, Diego Alvarez-Moyano (whom he was legal guardian of); are grandparents, Juana Carrasquillo- Marin, Eligio Moyano-Betancourt, and Gladys Navas-Rios; brother, Angel Miguel Moyano-Pinales; sister, Krizia Moyano-Rivera; mother-in-law, Paula Fasser (Kenneth Columbia) mother-in-law, Angela Pinales; father-in-law, Jose Ortiz; sister-in-law, Julia Bockman; aunt, Marisol Moyano; niece, Anna Bockman; and cousins, Juan Rivera, Juan Negron, Rafael Cirino, Stefano Encarnacion.
A visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 26th, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 27th, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Reverend Bjorn C. Lundberg officiating. Interment will be in Quantico National Cemetery.
