Michela “Mickey” Dicks

Michela “Mickey” Iglio Dicks, 80, of Toms Brook, Virginia, died Friday, December 4, 2009, in her home.

Mrs. Dicks was born in 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Dominic and Josephine Iglio. She was a retired Library Processer with Fairfax County School retiring in 2000. Mrs. Dicks was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, Virginia.

Her husband, William Richard Dicks, whom she married on September 2, 1951, preceded her in death on December 13, 1987.

Surviving are her children, Dawn Johnson and her husband, Jim, of Toms Brook, Virginia, Richard Dicks of Manassas, Virginia, Michele McLain and her husband, Ralph, of Woodstock, Virginia; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Josephine Horton of Irwinton, Georgia, and two brothers.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 130 Keating Drive, Winchester, Virginia, 22601, with Father Michael Dobbins officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia

The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
