Michael “Mike” W. Vaughan, Sr.
Michael “Mike” Wayne Vaughan, Sr., 65, of Frederick County, Virginia, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Vaughan was born in 1950, in Illinois, the son of the Ann Vaughn and Lacy and his wife Mary Ann Vaughn. He was employed as a truck driver for over 40 years. Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping whenever possible. He can forever be remembered for his love of family, collection of many many things and unique sense of humor as well as always being a kid at heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He married Nancy Buracker on September 28, 1997 in Stephens City, Virginia.
Surviving with his wife is his daughter, Bobbie Allen and her husband Curtis of Middletown, Virginia; son, Michael Vaughan, Jr. of Stephenson, Virginia; step-daughter, Tonya Redmond and her husband John of Stephens City; step-sons, John Neff, Jr. and his wife Michelle, Joseph Neff and his wife Kim all of Stephens City, 3 grandchildren; Veronnica, Victoria and Ariana 6 step-grandchildren; Chris, Justin, Trevor, Elisa, Emily and Levi; sisters, Gail Ford and her husband Eric of Capon Bridge, West Virginia, Lori Bassler and her husband John of Winchester; and his brother, Jerry Vaughan of Capon Bridge.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, from 5:00-7:00 PM, at Refuge United Methodist Church Stephens City, Virginia.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, at Refuge United Methodist Church, Stephens City, Virginia with Pastor John Lock officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Refuge United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stephens City, Virginia.
