Michael Lawrence Gaylord, 67, of Frederick County, Virginia passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 16, 2017.
Mike was born in 1950 in Spokane, Washington, the son of the late Morris and Margaret Gaylord. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and attended Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mike worked for Northern Virginia Supply in Manassas for 41 years. Mike enjoyed his life in the country, spending time outside in nature and at home with his family. He was kindhearted and had a soft spot for animals from saving turtles he found on the road to caring for his own pets at home. Mike always stopped to help an animal in need.
Mike married Martha Kay Kinch on April 24, 2004 in Burke, Virginia.
Surviving with his loving wife of 13 years are step-daughters, Julie Spencer of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Williams of Kane, Pennsylvania, Stephanie Bennett of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania; step-sons, Nathan Bennett of Deltona, Florida, Christopher Bennett of Spring Lake, North Carolina, Jeremy Bennett of Toledo, Ohio, Seth Bennett of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, David Bennett of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, Kyle Albney of Olean, New York; ten step-grandchildren; and sisters, Sandy Weisser of Moses Lake, Washington and Catie Gavin of Spokane, Washington.
Services will be at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
