Mike L. Barton
Michael Lawrence Barton, 63, of Edinburg, Virginia, died Wednesday, December 18, 2013, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Barton was born in 1950, in Washington D.C., the son of Marie B. Barton, and the late Russell Lawrence Barton. He was a graduate of Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia, Class of 1968. Mr. Barton was a Veteran having served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Specialist 4. Mike was employed with Russell L. Barton Drywall and Plastering, Inc. in Vienna, Virginia for 38 years. He also attended St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Woodstock, Virginia, and was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving is his mother Marie of Vienna, Virginia; his son, Michael L. Barton, Jr. of Maryland; brother, Patrick Russell Barton and wife, Kimme, of Sterling, Virginia; sisters, Jo Anne Barton of Woodbridge, Virginia, Mary Cosman and husband, Michael, of Herndon, Virginia, Wendy Kmetz and husband, Kenny, of Mattituck, New York; nieces and nephews, Angela Grover, Meredith Biggs, Rosie Koledin, Christina Barton, Brandon Jochum Nicole Vanaman and Thomas R. Barton.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, 1600 Amherst Street, Winchester, Virginia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Michael Dobbins officiating. Interment will be in Culpeper National Cemetery, Culpeper, Virginia.
