Michael Ivan Best
Michael Ivan Best, age 64, of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 in Willow Tree Manor, Charles Town, West Virginia.
Michael was born in 1953, the son of the late Robert Ivan and Elizabeth W. Best. He attended Warren County High School. He was a Project Manager for Builders First Source in Winchester. Michael was a member and elder of Berkeley Springs Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was well known for his witty sense of humor. He loved to travel, play golf, go fishing, and was an avid fan of the Nationals and Redskins teams. He enjoyed reading and watching old western and war movies. He loved to share his knowledge of history with others. Most of all, he loved his family, his children and always made time for them, especially his grandson, Ethan. Michael made many a gourmet meal for his family as well as dinner and movie night with his wife, Barbara. They were truly soul mates.
Michael married Barbara Lynn Broadwater on December 31, 1997.
Surviving with his wife, Barbara, are two daughters, Sarah Best of California and Rebecca Parker of Washington state; three sons, Steven Best of California, David Patterson of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and Clinton Patterson of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia; and one grandson, Ethan Patterson of Front Royal, Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steven Best.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday at Berkeley Springs Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Elder Shannon Lopp officiating. Inurnment will be private.
