Michael E. Gur
Michael E. Gur, 52, of Winchester, Virginia, passed away in his home Wednesday, April 13, 2016.
Mr. Gur was born in 1964, in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, the son of Eugene A. Gur and the late Mary Jane Gur. He was a graduate of Handley High School, Class of 1982, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History in 1986 from the College of William & Mary, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He also received a Master’s Degree from the University of IL Urbana-Champaign in 1990, and a Masters in Library and Information Science degree from the University of Alabama in 2009. He was employed as a reference librarian for Handley Regional Library. He was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Mr. Gur is survived by his daughter, Emily Katherine Gur, of Norfolk, Virginia, and four sisters, Donna M. Gur, of Hagerstown, Maryland; Laura J. Hart, and her husband Gary, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Lynne M. Just, of Richmond, Virginia; and Gretchen K. Comer, and her husband Alex, of Madison, Virginia. Michael is also survived by his best friend, Jennifer Sutter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016, at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Stanley Krempa officiating. Interment will be private.
