Michael “Bret” Morgan, Sr., 57, of Clear Brook, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2020, at the Hospice of the Panhandle, Kearneysville, West Virginia.

Mr. Morgan was born in 1962, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Anna Lee and James L. Morgan. He was a graduate of Handley High School. Mr. Morgan was employed with Project Hope and was the Owner of Morgan Enterprises, retiring in 2020.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Elks Club, Terrace Club and Eagles Club. He enjoyed buying antique furniture, watching the Simpsons, building puzzles and collecting cars. He especially loved spending time with his family, his dogs, Jar Jar and Binks as well as his cats, Tiger and Monique.

His wife, Sharon Morgan, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his children, Michael Bret Morgan II, Matthew James Morgan and Mary Elizabeth Morgan; sister, Kimberly M. Ricketts (Stephen) brother, Darrin S. Morgan (Bea) and Bret’s partner, Tina Raia. Also surviving are his many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, uncle and dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 9:00 AM- 2:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. A private graveside service will be conducted at Shenandoah Memorial Park, Frederick County, Virginia, with Pastor Mike Mayton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Bret may be sent to: Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, West Virginia, 25430 or the American Cancer Society, 124 Park Street SE, Vienna, Virginia, 22180.

Linda & I sent our condolences to the entire Morgan family and thank you all for the many years of allowing us to enjoy the love, friendship and happiness with your family. Thanks Brett for being the brother I never had and for being the wonderful Dad you are, in spite of life’s unfortunate setbacks. We both love your kids, who, like you, are making their mark in this world by sharing their Dad’s values, attitude, determination, and patience. But Brett, years ago I admit to making a tactical error: I thought I could keep up with you eating crab legs! Not even close brother!! So, Linda & I send our love and look forward to our reunion with you in Go’s House!! Until then, RIP Brett!!!!

I knew Bret through Kim Ricketts, and Angie and I offer our condolences to the family. Bret was very friendly and always seemed to be smiling. I look forward to seeing his smile in heaven some day.

So sorry to hear, we were friends back in the day and remember some good times we shared! Hadn't seen him in a long time but was one I was looking forward to seeing later this year. I had no idea he was sick! Prayers to his kids, he will be missed!

My thoughts and prayers are with Bret's family and friends. I knew Bret while growing up in my high school days. I use to sit and laugh my head off with Bret when he would come to the Eagles club. Darrin big hug for you. Brett is going to be missed by many, he was such a good man and I was lucky to have known him.

I remember Bret from school, he was always nice to everyone and will be remembered fondly.

I haven’t seen Bret for many years. He was in my Building Trades class at Dowell J. Howard. Always a nice guy. Great to be with. My prayers are with family and friends.
