Carol. Nick, and Katie- My heart is broken and I’m extremely sad to hear about my colleague and friend. I feel like the “twins” as I came to know them are my children too. I enjoyed the long talks that Michael and I shared in the break room, his office, or cubicle about nothing or everything. My fellow left hander and probably the most organized person I know. I will miss the kind words and looks he would speak and give after spending 12 or more hours on a high severity incident. PenFed was lucky to have such a skilled and dedicated Engineer. Most importantly Michael was the most genuine of individuals and I was proud to have called him my friend. Carol, Nick, and Katie are added to my daily prayers for peace in the coming days, weeks, months, and years.

I am very sorry for your loss. I remember cub scouts with Michael (Whom I knew as Mr. Borland) and Nick. I enjoyed the computer stuff he brought in once and the cool car he made for the pinewood derby. He influenced me to become a computer engineer (my house is full of computer parts now). I hope you guys are holding up well. Michael will be missed.
