Melvin Theodore Manuel, age 78, of Stephens City, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017 in Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Manuel was born in Warren County, Virginia in 1939, the son of the late Irving Albert and Sadie Ray Manuel. He worked as an electrician for various commercial and residential electrical contractors during his career, retiring in 2001 from Consolidated Electric.
Melvin married Lillian Virginia Fox on April 29, 1987 in Frederick County, Virginia. Lillian preceded him in death on January 23, 2017. His first wife, Nancy Windle Manuel, preceded him in death in 2014.
Surviving are sons, Roger Manuel (Angie) of Wardensville, West Virginia, Richard Manuel of Pensacola, Florida, and Jeffrey Manuel; step-sons, Calvin Dean Fox, Jr. (Diann) of Gore, Virginia and Gary L. Fox (Connie) of Stephens City, Virginia; step-daughter Linda Fox Marple of Stephens City, Virginia; step-son-in-law, Robert Kerns; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and sister, Genevieve Kirby of Woodstock, Virginia.
In addition to his parents and wives, Melvin is preceded in death by his son, Randy Manuel, step-daughter, Pamela Kerns and 11 siblings.
There will be a gathering of friends and family on Wednesday from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Omps, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, Virginia.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm at Omps, South Chapel with Pastor Chuck R. Davis, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Robert Kerns, Randy Linaburg, Gary Fox, Russ Manuel, Nathan Manuel, and Tony Fox.
