Maxine Ruth Willis, 91, of Winchester, Virginia passed away on Monday, June 25, 2018, at Winchester Medical Center.

Mrs. Willis was born in 1926 in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of the late Lillian S. and Leland F. Laux. She was a graduate of Alton High School and was of the protestant faith. Mrs. Willis was a homemaker and a great seamstress who loved to knit and stitch crewel embroidery. She enjoyed traveling and keeping up with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Marion Henry Willis, whom she married on April 23, 1947 in Alton, Illinois, preceded her in death on October 30, 2014.

Surviving are daughters, Lynn King (John) of Purcellville, Virginia and Marsha Agena (Allen) of Kapolei, Hawaii; grandchildren, Julie Robinson (David) of Fishersville, Virginia, Joshua King (Leigh Ann) of Purcellville, Virginia, Kathryn Bambadji (David) and Lindsay Rivera (Brad) both of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; six great grandchildren; sister, Gaile George of Hamel, Illinois and brother, James Laux of Glen Carbon, Illinois.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 7th, at The Willows at Meadow Branch with Pastor Vernon Bray officiating.
