Maurice T. Parlett

Maurice Theodore Parlett, 72, of Frederick County, VA, died Wed., Sept. 1, 2010, in Winchester Medical Center.

Mr. Parlett was born in 1938 in Winchester. He was a graduate of Handley High School Class of 1959. Mr. Parlett was an avid golfer and Notre Dame fan.

His wife, Catherine DeHaven Parlett, whom he married on Jan. 2, 1965, preceded him in death on May 25, 2003.

Surviving are his daughters, Margaret Ann Parlett of Winchester, Michelle Parlett of Cross Junction, son, Eric Wayne Parlett of Winchester; three grandchildren, Donivon Dwain Fortner, Tyler Parlett and Lincoln Parlett and his Great Aunt Mildred Martz.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Sat. at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel with Father Michael Dobbins officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Fri. from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.

I was very shocked to hear of Maurice's passing. I saw and talk with him not long ago while we were waiting to get our hair cut. He was doing well then and looked great. I worked with Maurice for many years and he was a pleasure to work with and a very nice man. Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. This world has lost a wonderful person.
