Mary G. Plaster
Mary Ann “Minky” Gardner Plaster, 86, of Westminster-Canterbury, Winchester, Virginia, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mary was born in 1924, in Haymarket, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Walter L. and Mollie J. Gardner. Mary was a retired secretary at National Airport having served with the CAA now known as the FAA. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg, Virginia and attended Christ Church Episcopal Church in Winchester.
She married Hubert Taliaferro Plaster, Jr., on August 6, 1949, in Haymarket, Virginia.
Surviving with her husband, are four children, Rebecca Gheen of Culpeper, Virginia, Sallie Vaaler of San Diego, California, Hubert T. Plaster III of Stephens City, Virginia, Suzan Miller of Mechanicsville, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Courtney of Orlando, Florida and Jean Wilson of Leesburg, Virginia.
Three sisters, Lucille Martin, Rosemont Blanchard and Bessie Gardner, preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Christ Church Episcopal Church in Winchester, with the Reverend Webster Gibson officiating. Interment will be at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bloomfield, Virginia, following a reception at Christ Church Episcopal Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westminster-Canterbury Fellowship Fund, 300 Westminster-Canterbury, Winchester, Virginia 22601.
