Mary Elouise Russell Jolliffe, 87, of Winchester, Virginia, died Monday, May 19, 2014, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Jolliffe was born in 1927, in Charles Town, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Ray R. and Carrie O. Russell. Mary was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and caretaker for many. She was employed in many various positions over the years including working at the Winchester Medical Center, National Fruit and as a homemaker. She was member of First Baptist Church in Winchester where she participated with the Singing Seniors group. Mary will forever be remembered for the friendships she made and her caring heart and soul.
Her husband, Joseph Baldwin Jolliffe, preceded her in death in 1997.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Jolliffe Combs of Winchester, Sally Largent Copp of Stephens City; two grandchildren, Rodney Holmes Largent and Carrie Ellen Combs; and five great grandchildren, Brady Douglas, Mason Edward and Rylee Nicole Largent, Cooper Sullivan and Jackson Seeley Fleming as well as a former son-in-law, Karl Copp.
One toddler brother, Maurice Russell, preceded her in death.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor George Fletcher officiating. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville, Virginia.
