Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Walters Lausier, 85, of Clear Brook, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Blue Ridge Care Inpatient Center in Winchester, Virginia.
Betty was born on April 16, 1941, in Richmond, Virginia, the daughter of the late Parker Price Marshall and Dorothy Anne (Super) Marshall.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Shepherd College and dedicated her professional life to shaping young minds as an Educator. She retired after a fulfilling career teaching elementary and middle school students within the Frederick County Public Schools system.
Betty had a deep passion for travel and cherished every moment spent with her family. When she was able, she was a highly active and devoted member of the Market Street United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George William Walters Sr., her second husband, Joseph Lausier, and her sister, the late Nancy Reed.
Betty is survived by her loving children: daughter, Cynthia L. Mullin (and her husband, Scott); and her sons, Thomas M. Walters and George W. Walters Jr. and daughter-in-law, Lori A. Walters.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her five grandchildren: Carly B. Zeigler (Lem), Ashley B. Oyler (Travis), Ryan A. Weeks (Felecia), Riley E. Walters, and Hayden T. Walters; as well as six cherished great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, officiated by Pastor Doug Rinker of Round Hill Church. A reception will immediately follow the memorial service at the Omps Reception Center. Interment will be private. Please wear something colorful to the service in honor of Betty.
