Mary Catherine Spurling, 95, of Strasburg, Virginia died Friday, December 30, 2022 at Greenfield Senior Living.

Mrs. Spurling was born November 2, 1927, in Frederick County, Va., the daughter of Julian Williams and Virgie Grove. She worked for 15 years at the Winchester Credit Bureau prior to retiring to do what she loved most, being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She and Richard looked forward to their many RV camping trips, especially to the Lewisburg State Fair with family and friends. She enjoyed music, playing scrabble on facebook and Sunday church programs.

She married Richard Taylor Spurling on July 30, 1949, in Hagerstown, MD and he preceded her in death in 2002.

Surviving is her daughter, Terry L. Rhodes and husband, Charles, of Strasburg, VA., two step-grandsons, three step-great grandchildren and five step-great great grandchidren.
Mrs. Spurling was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Easter, and a step great-grandson; two sisters, Gretna Buhl and Betty Gladden, and two brothers, Roy Williams and Carl Williams.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m. on Friday at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel with Pastor Rodney Rhodes officiating. A private interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
