Marvin Lee Messick, Sr., 68 of Winchester, VA, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Winchester Medical Center.

Marvin was born in 1955 in Winchester, VA, the son of Nancy Messick and the late Roy Richard Messick, Sr. He was a graduate of James Wood High School and attended Winchester Church of God. Marvin retired from working as a mason in the construction field. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Marvin enjoyed camping trips and always looked forward to spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Debra “Debbie”, whom he married on July 1, 1978; daughter, Melissa Roberts (Mark); son, Marvin “Jr.” Messick (Jessica); grandchildren, Kayla (Dylan), Colby, Colin, Carter and Kaidance; great-granddaughter, Kendall; sister, Karen Messick; brothers, Roy Messick, Jr. (Linda), Steve Messick (Donna), Roger Messick (Sherry), Sid Messick (Crystal), numerous nieces and nephews and canine companion, Lily.

A visitation will be held for Marvin on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 4pm to 6pm with a service the following day, Monday, October 16, 2023, at 11am, all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Salem Church Cemetery in Stephens City. Officiating will be Pastor Chad Dunford.
