Marshall Keller Golliday, 101, of Strasburg, Virginia passed away Monday, January 7, 2019, at Greenfield Reflections of Strasburg.
Mr. Golliday was born in 1917 in Stephens City, Virginia, the son of the late Carmel and Nellie Golliday. He graduated from Stephens City High School, Class of 1934 and was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, having served during the World War II conflict, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Mr. Golliday was a self-employed truck driver. He enjoyed flying and was of the Methodist faith….a man of strong faith.
His wife, Freda Mae Golliday, whom he married in 1937 preceded him in death in 1997.
Surviving are sons, Larry S. Golliday (Bonnie), Alex M. Golliday (Hattie), Keith A. Golliday (Janie), and Kelly W. Golliday; grandchildren, Steve Golliday, Sherry Welch, Crystal Morris, Lora Gonzales, Brian Golliday, Mary Kinnie, Daisy Golliday, Jason Golliday, and Justin Golliday; and many loving great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Mr. Golliday was preceded in death by a son, Jerry L. Golliday; grandchildren, Regina, Mark, and Jimmy Golliday; two great great grandchildren; sister, Maxie Oneita Hurst; and brother, C. Leslie Golliday.
A celebration of life will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, January 26th, at Relief United Methodist Church, 5275 Middle Road, Winchester, Virginia. A fellowship meal will follow the service at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel.
