Marjorie Ann Ganse, 92, of Inwood, WV, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV.
Margie was born in 1931 in Norristown, PA the daughter of the late Sherman and Anna (Taylor) Reid. She was a 1949 graduate of Norristown High School. She married Robert George Ganse on April 7, 1951 in Norristown, PA. The couple resided in Lancaster, PA until relocating to Winchester, VA in 1961. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church from 1961 until her death.
Margie is survived by her sons, Robert Ganse (Barbara), Donald Ganse (Cathy), Richard Ganse and daughter, Anne Ganse (Brenda); grandchildren, Jennifer Beaudoin, John Scipione, Sam Ganse, Tim Ganse, Leah Ganse, Evan Ganse, Samantha Stine, Jamie Ganse and Alex Paxton; 10 great-grandchildren and sister, Pat Frost.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, David Ganse and Jimmy Ganse; sister, Barbara Reid and brothers, George, Edward and Sherman Reid.
Margie was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her six children and taking care of her husband. In her later years, Margie enjoyed square dancing with her husband which afforded them the opportunity to make many friends and travel extensively with them. Her most treasured moments were spending time with her family as they were everything to her.
A visitation will be held for Margie on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 10am followed by a service at 11am at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A reception will be held following the burial at Omps Reception Center, Amherst Chapel.
The family would like to thank the many caregivers of Margie including Harmony at Martinsburg, Martinsburg Healthcare Center, and Hospice of the Panhandle.
