Marion Lynn Cockrell Dodd, 62, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, December 27, 2015, at her home.

Mrs. Dodd was born in 1953, in Leesburg, Virginia, the daughter of the late James and Vera L. Cockrell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd Church in Winchester. Mrs. Dodd loved her family and enjoyed sewing, making clothing for her grandchildren, and cooking.

She married Timothy “Tim” Edward Dodd on August 30, 1989, in Winchester, Virginia.

Surviving with her husband is her son, Timothy “Tim” Martin Dodd of Frederick County, seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; her sisters, Joyce Fox of Cape Coral, Florida, Debbie Sams of Nokesville, Virginia and her brother, James Cockrell of Winchester, Virginia.

A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Good Shepherd 654 Berryville Avenue, Winchester, Virginia, 22601.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family during this difficult time. I hope that the promise found in ISAIAH 25:8 can bring you some comfort. It is so reassuring knowing that there is a future here on earth for the ones we have lost in death.

Marion, You were a big part of our lives growing up, and you always will be. I have many fond memories of you. I love you, Mare-Mare. Sandy

I give my sincere condolence to Mrs. Dodd's family. Although this is a dark time, having people around who are there to give comfort lifts the spirits. 2 Corinthians 1: 3, 4 brings out that God wants to give us comfort during the hard times. He does this by providing us with this Scripture at Acts 24: 15 which says "There is going to be a resurrection." This includes Mrs. Dodd. I hope my words have been able to lift your spirits.
