Marie Roberts, 85 of Berryville, VA passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Commonwealth of Berryville.

Marie was born in 1939 in Wadesville, VA, the daughter of the late Edgar “Dean” and Alice Irene Shirley. She was a graduate of Clarke County High School and worked as a nursing aide at the VA Hospital in Martinsburg and was former owner of Mar-Win Pizza and Sub Shop in Bunker Hill. Marie was a member of Bunker Hill United Methodist Church where she was a youth group leader and where she and her husband, Jackie, started a community Birthday Calendar to benefit the youth group. They also started the college fund through the church. She enjoyed cooking and camping with her family. Marie had a special place in her heart for her beloved grandkids, great-grandkids and her dogs.

She married Jackie “Jack” Martin Roberts on July 26, 1959, in Bunker Hill, WV. He preceded her in death in 2021.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Suzzette Cole (Luke), son, Rick M. Roberts (Susan); grandchildren, Rachel Brown (Dylan), Brandon Cole, Kristin King (Josh) and Kaitlin Eddinger (Dereck) and her great-grandchildren, Dylan Brown, Jr., Connor King and Maverick Eddinger and sisters-in-law, Judy Shirley, Pattie Shirley and Mattie Fiddler.

Along with her parents and husband, Marie is preceded in death by her brothers, Edgar, John Dean, Ralph, Harry, Carrol and Les Shirley and Jim Fiddler.

A visitation will be held for Marie on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 10am with a service to be conducted at 11am all held at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel. Interment will be in Old Stone Church Cemetery.
